(about)Who we are

People work.
We make it work better.

The Workfolk is a remote HR consultancy built for Indian companies, small and big. Teams of ten to a thousand, at the stage where getting people right is the difference between a company that scales and one that stalls.

Our belief

HR should be proportionate, practical, and honest. Built for where your company actually is, not where a textbook thinks it should be.

We don't just place candidates. We don't just write policy documents. We don't just run training sessions and disappear. We do people, every part of it, and the senior thinking that ties it all together.

Being remote also means we are reachable when things do not wait for office hours. People issues rarely break out neatly between nine and six. When an exit turns ugly, a key hire wobbles or a Sunday-night message lands in your inbox, we are here. You will not be left waiting until Monday.

(01)Principles

Remote-first.

We work with teams across India, wherever you are. No travel theatre. Just the work.

Proportionate.

We don't apply five-hundred-person solutions to twenty-person problems. We build for where you actually are.

No lock-in.

Everything we build, you own. Fully documented. Fully handed over. You leave every engagement stronger.

Straight talk.

No jargon. No frameworks for the sake of frameworks. Honest thinking, said simply.

(02)The founders

Two people.
One belief.

One side knows the HR function from the inside, end to end. The other knows what it feels like to build and scale a company from zero. Workfolk sits exactly in the middle.

Anahita Jawanpuria.

Co-founder

Co-founder of The Workfolk and the senior voice that sets the direction of the firm. Over twenty years of leadership across human resources, spanning some of India's most complex corporate and industrial environments — Tata Steel, Timken and senior mandates across group companies covering plants, corporate offices and union-led workforces.

Has held senior HRM roles across talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, organisation design, policy architecture, leadership development and industrial relations. MBA in HR and Industrial Relations, with sustained CXO-level exposure across boards, plant heads and union committees.

Also a business builder in her own right, having built and run direct-to-consumer ventures across food and beverage and furniture — giving her a clear view of what people, structure and culture look like from the founder's seat as much as the boardroom.

At Workfolk she leads the firm and its work — shaping the practice, owning the senior client relationships, and making the judgement calls that sit outside any textbook.

Co-founder

Co-founder of The Workfolk. Founder and operator with a track record of building and scaling businesses from the ground up, including a multi-team marketing and growth agency taken from a standing start to a sustained eight-figure revenue base, serving brands across India, the GCC and the United States.

Has hired, structured and led cross-functional teams across growth, brand, content, design and operations — and worked through the full arc of company building, from early hiring and org design to restructures, leadership transitions and the systems a company needs as it scales.

At Workfolk he leads brand, growth and firm operations — making sure the practice reaches the founders and CEOs who need it, and that the way the firm runs matches the standard of the work itself.

Let's see if we're a fit.
